How do I request an assessment?
Click on the “book” button, select Autism assessment, then choose a date, and follow the instructions to make a payment. We will then email you to provide information about your assessment and send you a pre-assessment questionnaire to complete.
How much does it cost?
£1300 for a comprehensive assessment, diagnostic report, and a 30-minute follow-up appointment.
Do I need to be assessed by a doctor or psychiatrist?
No. You don't need to be assessed by a doctor. Our clinicians have the necessary qualifications and experience to undertake autism diagnostic assessments. Your assessment will be multidisciplinary, include a mental state assessment, and meet NICE guidelines for autism assessment.
How can I check the clinicians are registered professionals?
All clinicians are registered with the appropriate regulatory body. You can check the register to see that they are registered.
For Nurses, go to Search the register - The Nursing and Midwifery Council

How does the assessment take place?
If you book an assessment with us, it will be conducted via video call and usually takes 2-3 hours. You may bring someone with you to support you if you wish.
You will receive information via email prior to your assessment date explaining the procedure and what to expect from the assessment. We will also send you a questionnaire to complete and return to us before your assessment.
What happens after the assessment?
After your assessment, we will let you know the outcome. We will prepare an autism assessment report and send it to you. We will also set up a follow-up appointment where you can discuss the report, make corrections if needed, and get information about sources of support. We can also send a copy of your report and diagnosis to your GP if you wish.
What if I pay for an assessment and don’t get a diagnosis?
Whether or not we diagnose you as autistic, your assessment report will include information about your strengths and needs and suggest strategies that may help you. We will provide you with a post-assessment resource booklet where you will find a wealth of information and resources. It would help if you still came to your follow-up appointment, where you can discuss what could help you.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Let us know as soon as possible by emailing us at info@affirmingautism.co.uk and we will contact you to arrange an alternative appointment. If it is impossible to agree on a suitable appointment, we will give you a refund per our cancellation policy.
